Real sex appeal is not the punishment and extreme discipline and suffering entailed in these methods. Here are some of the most incredible (and repugnant) dieting “tricks” . They vary based on profession, and they are unique to women because many men will attempt to bulk or preserve muscle, whereas women often deliberately waste muscle away. These techniques also tend towards starvation behaviors, since starvation is, well, what women in America often just plain do. Consume nothing other than apples and coffee for as long as possible. The rationale behind this diet extreme is that coffee acts as a diuretic, thinning you out, while the apples provide fiber for as much of an illusion of satiation as possible as well as vitamin C and other nutrients to keep you functioning. This woman tried it and by the fourth day was sleepless, nauseous, and in tears. Also, by that point she had only lost one pound. More success is had by models, celebrities, and women on Pro Ana (Pro Anorexia) message boards when some protein is included or if they have extraordinary, heart- breaking willpower. Therefore, when taken internally, the diatomaceous earth attracts and absorbs positively- charged pathogens into its cylinder – it absorbs the things we want to stay away from, like viruses, pathogenic fungi and bacteria, heavy metals, prescription drug residues, pesticides, parasites, radiation, and the like – and sweeps them out of our bodies. Diatomaceous earth is also very hard. On a scale of “hardness”, if diamonds were a 9, diatomaceous earth would be a 7. This helps us too – as this powder makes its way through our digestive tract, it gently “scrubs” the packed- on residue we have there and sweeps it out of our bodies. Nice, diatoms! Eat full- fat milk products from pasture- fed cows, preferably raw and/or fermented, such as raw milk, whole yogurt, kefir, cultured butter, full- fat raw cheeses and fresh and sour cream. Use animal fats, such as lard, tallow, egg yolks, cream and butter liberally. Use only traditional vegetable oils. Use vegetables in salads and soups, or lightly steamed with butter. Use whole grains, legumes and nuts that have been prepared by soaking, sprouting or sour leavening to neutralize phytic acid, enzyme inhibitors and other anti- nutrients. Include enzyme- rich lacto- fermented vegetables, fruits, beverages and condiments in your diet on a regular basis. Prepare homemade stocks from the bones of chicken, beef, lamb and fish and use liberally in soups, stews, gravies and sauces. Use filtered water for cooking and drinking. Use unrefined salt and a variety of herbs and spices for food interest and appetite stimulation. Make your own salad dressing using raw vinegar, extra virgin olive oil and a small amount of expeller- expressed flax oil. Use traditional sweeteners in moderation, such as raw honey, maple syrup, maple sugar, date sugar, dehydrated cane sugar juice (sold as Rapadura) and stevia powder. Use only unpasteurized wine or beer in strict moderation with meals. Cook only in stainless steel, cast iron, glass or good quality enamel. Use only natural, food- based supplements. Get plenty of sleep, exercise and natural light. Think positive thoughts and practice forgiveness. Dietary Dangers. Do not eat commercially processed foods such as cookies, cakes, crackers, TV dinners, soft drinks, packaged sauce mixes, etc. Read labels! Avoid all refined sweeteners such as sugar, dextrose, glucose, high fructose corn syrup and fruit juices. Avoid white flour, white flour products and white rice. Avoid all hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats and oils. Avoid all industrial polyunsaturated vegetable oils made from soy, corn, safflower, canola or cottonseed. Avoid foods cooked or fried in polyunsaturated oils or partially hydrogenated vegetable oils. Do not practice veganism. Animal products provide vital nutrients not found in plant foods. Avoid products containing protein powders as they usually contain carcinogens or damaged proteins formed during processing. Likewise, avoid lean meat, skinless poultry, reduced- fat milk and egg whites without the yolks. Consumption of protein without the cofactors occurring in animal fats can lead to deficiencies, especially of vitamin A. Avoid processed, pasteurized milk; do not consume ultrapasteurized milk products, lowfat milk, skim milk, powdered milk or imitation milk products. Avoid factory- farmed eggs, meats and fish. Avoid highly processed lunch meats and sausage. Avoid rancid and improperly prepared seeds, nuts and grains found in granolas, quick rise breads and extruded breakfast cereals, as they block mineral absorption and cause intestinal distress. Avoid canned, sprayed, waxed and irradiated fruits and vegetables. Avoid genetically modified foods (found in most soy, canola and corn products). Avoid artificial food additives, especially MSG, hydrolyzed vegetable protein and aspartame, which are neurotoxins. Most soups, sauce and broth mixes and most commercial condiments contain MSG, even if not indicated on the label. Minimize caffeine and related substances in coffee, tea and chocolate. Saturated fats, such as butter, meat fats, coconut oil and palm oil, tend to be solid at room temperature. According to conventional nutritional dogma, these traditional fats are to blame for most of our modern diseases. However, many scientific studies indicate that it is processed liquid vegetable oil. Our bodies do not function at room temperature, but at a tropical temperature. Saturated fats provide the appropriate stiffness and structure to our cell membranes and tissues. Nutrition plays a big roll when it comes to having a healthy body and reproductive system. The building blocks for hormones are found in the foods we eat. Antioxidants, which help to protect the egg and sperm from free radicals, are found in the foods that we eat. Just as nutrients in food can be helpful for fertility, there are some foods and chemicals added to foods that can be harmful for your health and fertility. In working with our natural fertility clients the first topic of discussion, regardless of the reason they are consulting with us, is “what is your diet like?”. Many of their responses are. Organic, grass- fed, whole fat, raw dairy is the best choice of dairy sources. Take note that dairy foods such as milk and cheese may be congesting to the body. Avoid large deep water fish such as ahi tuna, swordfish, and Chilean sea bass due to their potential concentrations of mercury, and focus on cold water fish such as wild Alaskan salmon, cod, and Alaskan halibut. Also when choosing salmon, avoid north Atlantic farmed salmon and choose wild salmon instead. Farmed salmon contains antibiotics and toxic food dyes. Choose meat that is Grass Fed and Organic. Conventionally raised cattle contain high levels of added hormones and antibiotics which can contribute to estrogen dominate conditions. Grass Fed meats, on the other hand, are a great source of essential fatty acids, are low in saturated fat, and are a great source of protein. If you are experiencing endometriosis you may want to reduce the amount of red meat that you eat as a study has shown a connection between high red meat consumption and endometriosis. Choose only free range/Organic chicken. Conventionally raised chickens are kept in unclean, cramped housing conditions and are fed non- organic and often, genetically modified feed. Avoid processed and refined white foods and grains such as white bread, semolina pastas, and white rice. Instead choose whole wheat or sprouted bread, rice or whole wheat pasta, quinoa, and brown rice. If you mounted the CRFX sprocket on the CRFL hub, it would rotate back and forth because the bolts would be too small for the hub holes. Notice how much heavier the CRFL hardware is than the CRFX. I would think the lower powered CRFL would be able to use the lighter CRFX hardware. Wonder why they went so heavy duty on the CRFL? Chad, from Sprocket Center, just told me the reason. I had no problems with the first 3 nuts/bolts, but #4 nut was so hard to break loose that the nut rotation spun the bolt and the allen key I was using to hold the bolt in place slightly rounded the socket in the bolt head. But the nut finally loosened. The fifth nut/bolt came out fine, but on #6, I again rounded the socket so badly when the allen key would no longer hold the bolt while I was trying to loosen the nut. So I drilled the bolt out enough to match my largest easy- out, and out it came. That was $4. 0 worth of titanium drill bits! Not to mention a not- exact replacement nut and bolt (until the CRFL nut and bolt arrived). A word of caution - use a very high quality allen key to keep the bolt head from turning and a 6- point 1. The force required to loosen the nut is very great. I had to use a 3 foot pipe extension on my 1. If I could have gotten an air gun/socket onto the nuts, it would have been easy- peasy - but no- go, the spokes are in the way. On the other hand, a diet consisting of whole grains (both gluten- containing and gluten- free varieties), fresh produce and lean meats, and that is low in refined carbs will leave you feeling better and more energized, and help you lose weight since you will be fuller longer. The bottom line: The only people who need to avoid gluten are those who have a diagnosed autoimmune or digestive disorder such as celiac disease. Myth #3: Organic food is healthier than conventional food. Some studies comparing organic produce to conventional produce indicate that organic produce may have higher levels of vitamin C. However, these studies have not proven conclusively that organic produce is healthier than conventionally grown produce overall. There are a multitude of studies showing the benefits of conventional fruit and vegetable consumption. The bottom line: Your emphasis should be on meeting fruit and vegetable intake, whether organic or not. Myth #4: Sugar is bad; high- fructose corn syrup is of the devil. High- fructose corn syrup is a man- made sweetener found in many types of processed foods and sweetened beverages. Currently, there is no evidence to show that high- fructose corn syrup is any less healthy than other types of sweeteners. The bottom line: Too much added sugar, from any source, is not good for you. Myth #5: Alcohol is good for you. Recent studies have shown that alcohol may not be linked as strongly to disease prevention as previously thought, and that the adverse effects of alcohol consumption may outweigh the benefits. For instance, regular consumption of alcohol is directly associated with increased risk of developing several types of cancer, and the more alcohol you drink, the higher your risk. The bottom line: If you consume alcohol, do so in moderation. This means consumption of no more than one drink a day for women or two drinks a day for men. And, do not consume it for the health benefits. Myth #6: Taking a daily multivitamin promotes health. Unless you have a deficiency, nutrients are best absorbed from foods, which contain vitamins and minerals in addition to dietary fiber and other natural compounds. This combination of nutrients will have overall positive health benefits that you can’t get from multivitamins. The bottom line: Routine supplementation in healthy individuals is not necessary. Myth #7: Eating protein builds muscle. Eating protein does not build muscle. Only exercise can build muscle! Regardless of whether you are an avid marathon runner or someone who enjoys regular physical activity, you will benefit from a balanced diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and fish. The bottom line: Cover just a quarter to a third of your plate with protein and your body will handle the rest! Myth #8: Milk is essential for bone health. Low calcium intake is linked to low bone mass and weakened bones. However, milk is not the only source of calcium in our diets. Non- dairy sources of calcium include leafy green vegetables such as collards and bok choy, plus soy products and baked beans. The bottom line: In addition to calcium, other bone- building nutrients include potassium, magnesium, vitamin K and vitamin D. Myth #9: Skinny is healthy. Weight is not a good indicator of health. Someone can be in the normal BMI range, but not be fit. Alternatively, if someone is above the normal BMI range and is fit, they have better health outcomes than someone of the same BMI who isn't fit. The bottom line: Instead of focusing on getting thin, focus on getting fit. Myth #1. 0: Your body needs a .
